Lapsit Storytime
Spring Session:
January 8th thru May 16th, 2008

Thursdays - 10:15 am & 11:15 am

Lapsit storytime focuses on children 0-2 years old and includes direct interaction between the child and their caregiver. No prior sign-up is required. Lapsit storytimes are filled with short stories, finger plays, music and lap games and last a total of about 30 minutes, including 15 to 20 minutes of stories and actions followed by 10 to 15 minutes of exploratory play.

Preschool Storytimes
Wednesday: 10:15 am, 11:15 am & 2:15 pm
Thursday: 6:15 pm
and Friday: 10:15 am

English-Spanish Preschool Storytime
Tuesday: 6:15 pm

Here is a Beehive
Here is the beehive, where are the bees?
(clench fist)
Hidden away were nobody sees
Watch and you will see them come out of their hive,
(bring out fingers quickly one by one)
One, two, three, four, five,
Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz
(put fingers together & buzz them around in the air like a bee flying)
Hey Diddle, Diddle

Hey, Diddle, Diddle,
The cat and the fiddle.
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such sport and the dish ran away with the spoon.

This Little Piggy
This little piggy went to market.
This little piggy stayed home.
This little piggy had roast beef.
This little piggy had none.
And this little piggy cried
Wee, Wee, Wee,
All the way home.

Starting with the thumb, touch one finger at a time holding onto the finger while saying each line until reaching the pinky finger. Wiggle it while saying the last two lines.

 

 

Roly-Poly

Roly-poly, roly-poly, up-up-up!
(roll hands, then lift them up)
Roly-poly, roly-poly, out-out-out!
(roll hands, then spread them out sideways)
Roly-poly, roly-poly, clap-clap-clap!
(roll hands, then clap)
Roly-poly, roly-poly, lay them in your lap!
(roll hands, then place them in your lap)

(Can vary speeds – regular, fast, slow)
