Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
e-Audiobooks are here!
Nampa Public Library has partnered with NetLibrary and Recorded Books to meet the digital needs of our audiobook listening customers!
Starting today you can download an audiobook from our website and play it on your home computer and transfer it to an MP3 player! It's digital, easy and fun!
We now offer hundreds of digital audiobook titles, including bestsellers such as David McCullough's 1776 and Alexander McCall Smith's The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, classics such as Twain'sThe Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Bronte's Wuthering Heights, and the award-winning Pimsleur language series. Additional titles are added to the core collection monthly, providing a continuous flow of new titles.

How do I get a NetLibrary account?
You will need to come to the Nampa Public Library and set up an account from one of our computers or you may contact us via telephone and establish an account which you will be able to access remotely. Once you have an account you can access NetLibrary from anywhere you have access to the web!
What equipment do I need?
NetLibrary e-Audiobooks can be downloaded or played on any desktop, laptop or portable device supporting Windows Media Player version 9 and above. Library users can also transfer favorite titles to a wide range of portable devices, including portable music players, portable media centers, Pocket PCs and even select smartphone devices.
E-Audiobooks can only be played on non-Apple components. They will not play and cannot be downloaded on Apple Computers or iPods at this time.

Nampa Public Library has MP3 players and car adapters for checkout. Everyone can access the e-Audiobooks whether you have high speed or dialup access to the Internet. You can also download the e-Audiobooks from a dedicated station in the library.
How do I find e-Audiobooks to download?
To find a title you can look in two places: the Nampa Public Library catalog where the item will display as an electronic resource (or sound file); or go directly to the NetLibrary site from our homepage. You can search for a variety of titles by keyword, title, author, or narrator search.
Once you have created a NetLibrary account you will be able to login and begin downloading e-Audiobooks. Select whether to download radio quality (for computer use only) or CD quality (for MP3 players). Then select download. To see a demonstration video Click Here. You can choose specific topic areas from the menu or listen to the whole demonstration.
What is the loan period?
e-Audiobooks check out for 21 days and can be renewed one time. You do not need to check them in as they will expire when the loan period ends.
How do I renew e-Audiobooks?
Once you have downloaded an item you may renew it one time only. Your computer will automatically generate a reminder for renewal to you. You may also access your NetLibrary account and renew an item once it is almost due.
Thanks for helping the library fund this project!
